Assistant Research Fellow, Institute of Political Science, Academia Sinica

I am a political scientist working on international security, with a particular interest in how information, public opinion, and emerging technologies shape the way states handle foreign policy crises. Much of my recent work looks at U.S.–China–Taiwan relations, alliance politics, and the domestic politics behind Chinese foreign policy, often using survey experiments and original datasets.

My research has appeared in The Review of International Organizations, The British Journal of Politics and International Relations, Foreign Policy Analysis, Conflict Management and Peace Science, Political Science Quarterly, and Political Studies Review, among other journals. I currently lead a multi-year project on the micro-foundations of high-level diplomatic visits, funded by the NSTC SEED Young Scholars Program.

Before joining Academia Sinica in 2022, I was the Hou Family Pre-doctoral Fellow in Taiwan Studies at Harvard's Fairbank Center for Chinese Studies and a pre-doctoral fellow at the Democratic Statecraft Lab at the University of Virginia. I received my Ph.D. in Politics from the University of Virginia and my M.A. and B.A. in Political Science from National Taiwan University.
